  Virtually all JWs have been taking blood fractions and don't know it!

  a notable member of this forum tipped me off to this fact, and i recently checked up on it.. check out the cdc's ingredient list for vaccines:.

  http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/downloads/appendices/b/excipient-table-2.pdf.

  any vaccine you see with the ingredients "bovine albumin", "bovine serum", "human serum albumin", are made from blood!.

  A lot of jws do know that vaccines are made with blood, but somehow dismiss it in their minds. Maybe because the amount is so small it is no longer blood? Their crazy idea-not mine!

  The rhogam injection given to mother's after delivering an RH positive baby when they are RH negative has been a conscience matter for decades with the jws. I knew two fleshly sisters who were jws and one decided to accept it and the other refused. Neither had any problems, thankfully, as they each had several children. The one that refused, however, was putting her infants at great risk.

  If you look up the rhogam shot, it will actually tell you that it is made from blood plasma. It will also tell you because it is made from plasma, it carries certain risks of transmission of disease.

  I remember an article asking whether jws could use pet food that contained processed blood. I believe the answer was no. You can't get much crazier than that! Don't animals eat each other? Do they drain the blood first?

  The watchtower only reacts to legal threats and the potential loss of large amounts of money. The blood doctrine cannot stand up in court, hence their refusal to even answer questions about it.

  The issue of coersion is the most interesting. If that can be established in court, it would actually become a conscience issue. Thanks for posting this, skeeter.

  Sounds like your friend is happy being a jw. It takes something very personally important to start those nagging doubts. Right now, she doesn't seem to want to think about it all. She is making the choice to hold tight to her comfort zone.

  A least, she took the time to talk with you. It is always hard to lose friends, but you know that you tried to be honest with her. The witnesses are in for a bumpy ride, I think. You never know what touches and stirs another person's heart and mind.

  I started and completed college as a dub back in the 80's. I didn't catch much flack for it. I managed to keep up with kids and college and still make all the meetings and weekend field service. I don't know how? I don't know what they said behind my back and I still don't care.

  I encouraged my kids to go to college and they have. It makes life a little easier to have a degree and a marketable set of skills. If you have the chance to get a degree, go for it.

  I thought meeting in small groups was a protection when persecution comes

  so they're doing away with the book study?

  i thought that was the safe haven when the authorities finally banned the meetings at the kingdom hall and persecuted us (according to jw prophecy), meeting in small groups at people's homes.

  any thoughts?.

  News Flash! Letter from Governing Body announcing meeting schedule changes

  the watchtower meeting (this congregation meets on sat) that i just listened to via phone conference was cut 10 minutes short to have a letter read to all the congregation.

  here are the highlights:.

  - the governing body realizes that the pressures of this system of things are getting heavier on his people.. - just like the governing body of the 1st century, we do not want to add additional burden to you either.

  I think it is a good sign. How they can even stand to study the Rev. anti-climax book again I will never understand. They are straining out the last vestiges of normal human contact from the org.

  Do they really think they are like the early Christians? I don't see any evidence that there ever was a "governing body" in the 1st century. I think they have delusions of grandeur.

  Just be still and listen to your thoughts. Take some time for yourself and look closely at the beautiful child you have. Trust your husband when he says everything will be just fine.

  Do good works by JWs count for anything?

  we all know that the wts like so many other cults is an exploitative organisation that works with a great depth of deception that's not easy for many to grasp.

  but will the works done by jws for this religion count in their favour if they were done in good faith?

  at least the ones that didn't directly harm anyone?

  We all believed at one time we were doing the right thing as jws. Doesn't make it right, but sincerity has to count for something. I look at what I once did as a jw as strange as those women caught up in that polygamy sect. Totally brainwashed. When I listen to them, I see cognitive dissonance at its finest.

  Glad I woke up and I realize I must have sounded pretty strange to other people. Hope all the "new light" breaks through to those still held hostage, even if it takes a lifetime to undo the damage.
